PLEASE READ BELOW FOR IMPORTANT COURSE INFO

THE ANNOUNCEMENT PAGE HAS VITAL INFORMATION ABOUT VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THIS COURSE. PLEASE REVIEW THE INFORMATION BELOW PERIODICALLY TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE FACTS YOU NEED TO SUCCEED.

What to do if our class doesn't meet on the due date/quiz/test

If our class Period does not meet on the due date for an assignment, quiz, test, etc., the deadline will automatically default to the next period we meet. For example, if the Test is scheduled for a Thursday, and our class doesn't meet then, we will take it Friday instead.

Come prepared for class!

Remember to bring your 3-ring binder, your necessary materials and current packets and homework, and a pencil case with pens and pencils each day.  Preparation points will be awarded or deducted!

Check the calendar for upcoming assignments and deadlines

Please make sure you keep up with our class calendar for upcoming assignments and deadlines!

Please make up work in a timely fashion!
One of the things which brings grades down the most is assignments which receive a zero percent because they were never handed in. If you are absent, you have one day for every day you were out to make up work, up to a week. See me and we will work out a makeup schedule which works for both of us. Don't wait! Avoid those 0% grades!

Read the book!

Reading Biological  material is an essential part of this course, and an essential skill for success  on the State Test at the end of the year. Make sure you are reading each Chapter  as we go through it. Try having your vocab cards handy for difficult terms.

Alternative assignments if you are home ill

Continue working on defining Vocabulary for the present Chapter,  preparing for a Vocabulary Quiz when you return. Also work on the Chapter  Questions for the current Chapter (complete sentences!), preparing for the  Chapter Test. Don't forget to read and outline the chapter! If you do not have  your book home, go to the website for Modern Biology (Holt, Rinehart, and  Winston)--SCILinks. You may do alternative assignments found there to help you  learn the material we are covering while you are out.
